Unless there is some breaking Life section news (which would certainly have to be tragic and involve multiple celebrities), Sara’s Patriot News article on local bloggers will be on news stands tomorrow (Sunday) morning.
*With pictures!* Hopefully they didn’t go with any of the shots where I am visibly confused about what I should be doing with my arms. I’m sure everyone else looks great.
So– Welcome Patriot News readers!
**update**: the articles are up at Pennlive: Who’s blogging locally, The Blogosphere.
**Ok, now what?**
Want to join the community we’re building? Start a blog. Sara probably covered some options, but I’ll add one that I’m responsible for: Go start a blog at HarrisburgHub.
Once you’re set up (at the hub, or elsewhere), leave a comment here and I’ll add you to Localfeeds: Harrisburg.
Want to hang out? Sign up for the meetup.
**What is Ross Notes *about?***
Depends– right now I’m in “project mode”, so I’ll mostly be writing on various stuff I’m working on. At any other given moment, I might be writing about local stories, politics, music, comic books, and any other randomness that I feel like sharing.
I’ll often post a link just because I want to be able to find it later.
**Why should I care?**
That’s up to you. You might not. You probably won’t, in fact.
That’s OK.
**Where’s the good stuff?**
I’m proud of the series of quick-and-dirty redesigns of state and local government sites I’m working on: Monday Night Redesigns. Look for the third edition this week.
Photo’s of the recent Pay Raise Rally and the high school I graduated from being ripped apart.
A concept of how online news should work.
Local Mayoral Candidate conducts an informal Q&A in my comment section.
Things I would fix at Pennlive. Written in 2003, most of the problems still exist.
**OK, I’ll keep read Ross Notes**
Cool. You’re gonna want to learn about RSS eventually, but in the meantime, you can subscribe via email.
**I want to give you money**
If your business, government agency, or non-profit group wants help with this stuff, drop me a line.

Coincidentally, I caught the Patriot article this morning as I was in Harrisburg for the weekend. You’re a lot younger than I thought :)
I wish I could be more involved with the Harrisburg blog scene, but alas, I think I’m exempt due to my current state of residence. Have you considered making HarrisburgHub an RSS aggregator? Simplifying user submissions in this way may generate more use.
